Reproductive health: HDI educates Lagos State Students

As part of effort to safeguard the reproductive health of adolescents in Nigeria, Human Development Initiatives (HDI) organised a one day orientation event for secondary school students in Lagos state.

The event which held at the organisation’s office was attended by about 120 students from various schools in Lagos state.

Speaking at the event, Mrs Abimbola Adesanmi advised the students to be careful what they watch and what they listen to. She also encouraged them to love themselves as individual, noting that this is the foundation for loving others.

Also speaking at the event is the president of the Girl-Child Enlightenment Foundation, Miss Jibike Makanjuola, who admonished the teenagers to focus on their academics and stay away from anything that can jeopardize their future.

Through the various lectures delivered, the programme was used as a platform to equip the students with necessary information that they need as adolescents and also to clear their misconceptions about love Sex and Special love days like Valentine.

Other highlights of the event include presentation of textbooks to some of the students who were beneficiaries of the organisation’s Empowerment Trust Fund for the children of widows and orphans.
